Irene Duch Latorre gives a presentation to a group of students.

Irene is a third-year PhD student in the Strier lab. She was trained in Biology in Spain and Ecuador and holds an M.S. in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is interested in Neotropical primate conservation and behavioral ecology of spider monkeys. She aims to understand how habitat loss and fragmentation affect spider monkeys, and, in particular, brown-headed spider monkeys (Ateles fusciceps fusciceps) inhabiting forest fragments in western Ecuador.
