AJ is broadly interested in diet, energetics, and endocrinology. Their central research question is how primates compensate, behaviorally and physiologically, for seasonal changes in preferred food availability. They conducted dissertation fieldwork in southeastern Brazil studying the behavior and ecology of brown howler monkeys (Alouatta guariba).
